Chepeta Lake and the surrounding high-alpine basins of the High Uintas Wilderness define this section of the Uinta Mountains. This modern topographical survey illustrates a landscape dominated by glacial water bodies and high-elevation passes, including North Pole Pass and the drainage divide between the Whiterocks River and Burnt Fork. The boundary between the Wasatch National Forest and Ashley National Forest bisects the area, following the high ridges that separate Summit and Duchesne counties.
