Chesterfield and the surrounding agricultural lands of Caribou County are defined by a complex irrigation network and the high terrain of the Fish Creek Range. The settlement of Chesterfield sits near the Chesterfield Cemetery, while further south, the community of Kinport is situated along Old Highway 30. The hydrologic character of the basin is shaped by the Portneuf River and its numerous tributaries, including Eighteenmile Creek and Twentyfour Mile Creek.
