The Rio Chama valley provides a fertile corridor through the high-desert landscape of northern New Mexico in this mid-century survey. The settlement of Chili is the primary hub, where the Immaculate Conception Ch and the small neighboring community of La Chuachia sit near the riverbanks. This area is a complex patchwork of historical land holdings, defined by the Juan Jose Lobato Grant Boundary and the Bartolome Sanchez Grant Boundary.

South of the river, the terrain ascends sharply toward Clara Peak and Cerro Roman, crossing into the Santa Fe National Forest. Industrial activity is evident in the presence of a Diatomaceous Earth Pit and a Pumice Pit, reflecting the region's volcanic geology. The lower portion of the map is dominated by the Santa Clara Indian Reservation, which is carved by numerous seasonal drainages like the Arroyo del Gaucho and Arroyo Guachapangue.
