The Crags dominate the eastern reaches of this high-country survey, marking a significant transition point within the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. This terrain represents the meeting of several administrative boundaries, including the dividing line between the Clearwater National Forest and the Nez Perce National Forest. The landscape is defined by high ridgelines and isolated water bodies, where dramatic elevations at Chimney Peak and Gedney Mtn give way to steep drainages feeding Old Man Creek and Gedney Creek.
