Valley Of The Gods dominates the southern reaches of this landscape, where dramatic sandstone formations rise from the desert floor. The 1996 photoinspection reveals a geography defined by its strikingly named landmarks, from the whimsically titled Rudolph and Santa Claus and De Gaulle and His Troops to the more literal Battleship Rock and Pyramid Peak. These isolated buttes and pinnacles are carved by the drainages of Lime Creek and its West Fork, which cut through the elevated expanses of Cedar Mesa.
