Sherwood and the nearby Nevins settlement anchor this landscape at the intersection of Clark, Wood, and Jackson counties. The terrain is defined by a dense network of wetlands and watercourses, including the East Fork Black River, Lead Cr, and Rocky Run. These waterways feed into significant wetland areas such as Ammundson Marsh, Rattlesnake Marsh, and Lynch Marsh, which dominate the central and southern portions of the quadrangle.
