Clausen Ranch serves as a primary landmark in this ranching landscape of Converse County. The terrain is defined by a network of drainage systems, most notably Little Lightning Cr and Alexander Draw, which channel seasonal runoff through the high plains. In the northeastern portion of the survey, the Number 1 Reservoir provides a critical water source for local agricultural and livestock operations. This 2018 USGS record illustrates the modern infrastructure of the region, where rural routes such as Co RD 55 and Co RD 43 provide access to the expansive land parcels. The southern half of the map is dominated by the upper reaches of the Walker Creek system, including the W Fork Walker Cr and the main stem of Walker Cr, reflecting the natural hydrology that has dictated land use and property boundaries in this part of Wyoming for generations.
