Musty Buck Ridge and Cohasset Ridge dominate the landscape of northern Butte County in this late 1970s topographical record. The settlement of Cohasset is positioned along the western ridge, supported by vital infrastructure like the Cohasset Forest Fire Sta and a Radio Tower (KHSL). To the south, Forest Ranch serves as a secondary hub of activity, with both communities maintaining local burial grounds at the Cohasset Cem and Forest Ranch Cem.

Evidence of the region's timber and resource history is found at the Anderson Mill (Site) within the boundaries of the Lassen National Forest. The complex drainage system of the Sierra Nevada foothills is clearly visible, with Big Chico Creek and Butte Creek carving deep ravines through the terrain. Small-scale industry and residential growth are noted through features like the Gravel Pit and various Mines scattered near the West Branch Butte Creek.
