Fremont National Forest dominates this high-altitude landscape in Lake County, characterized by a series of prominent basaltic features and numerous natural springs. High points like Coleman Point and the sheer Coleman Rim overlook a series of volcanic plateaus and basins, including Grasshopper Flat, South Flat, and the curiously named Picture Flat. These features are connected by an extensive network of Forest Service roads and the Quartz Mtn Snowmobile Trail, which traverses the western section of the map.
