The town of Comanche anchors the northwest corner of this Oklahoma landscape, which transitions from the developed streets of the settlement into a complex network of prairie drainage systems. The survey area is defined by the headwaters and branches of Mud Cr, including the distinct W Mud Cr and E Mud Cr forks, which create a meandering wetland pattern across the central and southern sections. This hydrological network is complemented by the Deer Cr and its S Fork Deer Cr tributary, illustrating the natural water management of the region.
