The landscape is dominated by the North Comobabi Mountains and South Comobabi Mountains, where peaks like Mt Devine and Picacho Pk tower over the Santa Rosa Valley. Resource extraction is evident through several sites tucked into the hills, including the Picacho Mine, Cooncan Mine, and Mildren Mine.

Small village centers and individual dwellings such as Sil Nakya, Ko Vaya, and Wickchoupai are connected by a network of unimproved roads and trails. Given the desert environment, water sources are meticulously documented, featuring numerous points simply labeled Well and Sand Wells. The survey provides a clear view of the Papago Indian Reservation before mid-century changes, documenting the location of local cemeteries, known as Cem, and the proximity of communities like Santa Lucia and San Luis to the mountain foothills.
