About this map

The high desert town of Connell serves as the central hub of this Franklin County landscape, situated at the confluence of three distinct dry coulees. The terrain is defined by the prehistoric drainage patterns of Providence Coulee, Esquatzel Coulee, and Washtucna Coulee, which converge near the settlement. These deep, wide channels cut through the plateau, creating a natural corridor for modern transportation and infrastructure. Outside the main town site, the area is characterized by sparse agricultural outposts such as Myers to the northeast and Curry to the south. The Connell City Airport and the local Po anchor the community's logistical connections, while the dramatic landform of Rattlesnake Canyon breaks the rhythm of the surrounding rangeland. The map illustrates a strictly organized grid of rural roads—including Williams Rd, Klaus Rd, and Lindenr Rd—that navigate the high ground between the coulee floors.
