The Kaibab National Forest dominates this northern Arizona landscape, where the high-altitude Kaibab Plateau gives way to a complex network of drainage systems. Central to the topography is Cooper Ridge, a prominent landform that separates several significant canyons. To the northwest, the forks of Willis Canyon—including the North Fork Willis Canyon and South Fork Willis Canyon—carve through the terrain. Evidence of water management in this arid environment is seen at Joes Reservoir and Government Reservoir in the northeast.
