Coquille sits as the central hub of this South Coast landscape, where the Coquille River winds through low-lying marshlands and timbered ridges. The town's civic importance is marked by the Coos County Courthouse, while its local heritage is preserved at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cem and the Masonic Cem on the northern hillsides. To the west, the settlements of Cedar Point and Coaledo border the expansive Beaver Slough, a significant drainage feature feeding into the river system.
