Jordan Craters dominate the western landscape of this Malheur County high desert terrain, where volcanic activity has shaped a distinct topography of lava flows and cinder cones. The central hydrologic system revolves around Cow Lakes, which are connected by a restrictive passage known as The Narrows. This area is characterized by a complex network of seasonal drainages and springs, such as Hawkins Spring and Meadow Spring, which support the surrounding Azcuenaga Meadows.
