Further south, the town of Ferdinand is established along the highway corridor, near the historic Saint Maurus Cem. The map illustrates a dense grid of rural roads, such as Holmes Crossing Rd and Ferdinand Butte Rd, which trace the section lines of the Public Land Survey System. The boundary between Lewis Co and Idaho Co is also clearly delineated as it traverses the southern reaches of the quadrangle, marking a transition between these two northern Idaho jurisdictions.
