Creedman Coulee National Wildlife Refuge anchors the eastern edge of this Hill County landscape, where the waters of Creedman Reservoir collect within the prairie. The terrain is defined by dramatic drainage patterns, most notably the winding path of Creedman Coulee and the branching South Fork Greenman Coulee to the south. Rising above the surrounding draws, Signal Butte serves as a prominent navigational landmark in an area otherwise characterized by open range and section-line transitions.
