Lake Davis and its eastern shore define the western boundary of this high-elevation landscape in Plumas County. The terrain is characterized by a series of high valleys and canyons, including McReynolds Valley, Thompson Valley, and the expansive Dixie Valley. Water moves through the region via a network of creeks, most notably Red Clover Cr and its tributaries such as Dixie Cr and Squaw Queen Cr, which drain the eastern slopes below Coyote Hills.
