Deer Park and the smaller settlement of Stanton occupy a landscape defined by glacial activity and river drainages along the border of St. Croix and Polk counties. The southern reaches of the map show the outskirts of New Richmond and the winding course of the Willow River, which is joined by the S Fork Willow River near Goose Pond. The topography is characterized by numerous small basins and wetlands, including Oak Ridge Lake and the connected waters of North Fish Lake and South Fish Lake.
