Romanzof Mountains dominate the southern portion of this high-latitude terrain, where the peaks descend into the protected expanse of the Mollie Beattie Wilderness. This 2023 survey provides a modern topographic record of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the North Slope region, far north of the Brooks Range. The landscape is defined by its glacial hydrology, with the Leffingwell Fork and Egaksrak River carving through the steep contour intervals. The absence of roads or permanent settlements emphasizes the character of this protected wilderness, where the only human-imposed markers are the Public Land Survey System lines of t1s r39e and t2s r40e.
