Annapolis sits at the northern edge of this study of the Saint Francois Mountains, where the landscape is defined by a dense network of hollows and ridges. This 2015 survey reveals a terrain carved by Big Creek and its many tributaries, including Island Br and Funk Br. The distribution of family burial grounds, such as Sisk Cemetery, Ruble Cemetery, and Wallace Cemetery, reflects the deep-rooted settlement patterns of the region.
