About this map

Chandelier Sound defines the eastern expanse of this coastal chart, where the fragile, marshy boundary of St. Bernard Parish meets the Gulf. The landscape is a labyrinth of interconnected waterways and low-lying points, notably Door Pt and the nearby Door Point Lagoon. Unlike more settled inland areas, this coastal margin is defined by its navigation landmarks and aquatic names, such as the Door Point Lt beacon which once guided vessels through these shallow passes.
