The Confusion Range dominates this portion of the West Desert, where the Great Basin's character is defined by sharp elevation shifts and expansive basins. In the western reaches, the terrain descends from the ridges into Cattlemens Little Valley, while the eastern side of the map opens into the broad Tule Valley. The landscape is etched with significant drainage features, most notably Dowdell Canyon and Payson Canyon in the southwest. Human presence is minimal, marked primarily by the utilitarian transit route of Mile and a Half Rd, which navigates toward the namesake Mile and a Half Canyon. This survey illustrates the classic Basin and Range geology of Millard County, showing a wilderness of limestone ridges and alluvial valleys used for seasonal cattle movement.
