Drummond Lake and the surrounding woodlands of the Upper Peninsula define this interior landscape near the border of Baraga and Iron counties. The terrain is characterized by a dense network of water bodies and seasonal drainages, including Fox Farm Lake, Little Pickerel Lake, and Hemlock Lake. Flowing through the center and eastern portions are the Murphy River and the E Br Net River, which provide the primary drainage for this secluded timber and recreation area.

Transportation is limited to a few established corridors like Us-141 and a network of named tracks such as Wilderness Trl and Lukes Rd. These routes offer access to remote parts of the forest and various small creeks like Tracy Cr and Shank Lake Cr. This survey illustrates the contemporary state of Michigan’s northern forests, where the land remains largely undeveloped and focused on the natural movement of water across the North American shield.
