Wildhorse Spring and Hangrock Spring provide rare water sources in this arid stretch of Juab County, where the desert floor meets the elevation of the Dugway Range. The landscape is defined by the significant rise of Spor Mtn and Thomas Ridge, features that dominate the southern and central terrain. This area has long been a site of resource extraction and transit, evidenced by the presence of the Oversight Mine and a network of secondary roads such as Wild Horse Middle and Rhetts Rd.

The northwestern portion of the map transitions into the expansive Fish Springs Flat, bordered by the Black Rock Hills and the deep incision of Goshoot Canyon. To the south, drainage patterns are etched into the earth by the North Fork Pismire Wash and South Fork Pismire Wash, which converge near The Dell. This 2020 survey records a remote topography where the high-altitude pass at Colored Pass and the route of the Simpson Springs-Callao Rd maintain the historical connectivity of the Great Basin.
