Dundee Meadows and the high basins of the Absaroka Range define this wilderness area where the Shoshone National Forest meets the Teton National Forest. The landscape is a complex network of alpine hydrology and high-altitude crossings, centered on Bonneville Pass and the surrounding drainage of Dundee Cr. High-elevation water bodies like Mystery Lake, Clendenning Lake, and Rainbow Lake are scattered across the terrain, linked by primitive routes such as the Murray Lake Trl and the South Fork Buffalo Trl.
