Chattahoochee National Forest dominates this North Georgia landscape, where the ridges and gaps of the Blue Ridge meet the headwaters of the Conasauga River. The area is marked by a network of long-standing mountain passes and leads, including Dyer Gap, Holly Creek Gap, and Snaggy Lead. These gaps historically provided critical passage through the high country of Cohutta Mtn and Potatopatch Mtn.
