Eagle Springs and the surrounding ranch lands of Whitson occupy this central Texas landscape where the Leon River winds through Horseshoe Bend before feeding into Belton Lake. The area's settlement history is reflected in a high concentration of family and community burial grounds, including Station Creek Cem, Mount Zion Cem, and Alexander Cem. The transition from rural farming to local aviation is marked by the Tick Hill Airfield, while the rugged creek bottoms of Stampede Cr and Brewster Cr define the drainage patterns of the southeastern terrain. Along the western edge, recreational and ranching infrastructure appears in the form of multiple named paths like Bluff Trail and Lost Trail, winding near the river's edge at the meeting point of Coryell, Bell, and McLennan counties.
