Lake Chetac dominates the northwestern portion of this Sawyer County landscape, its western shoreline defined by complex bays and points such as Badger Bay, Squaw Bay, and Pikes Pt. The settlement of Edgewater sits near the northern narrows where Squaw Creek enters the larger water body. Moving south and east, the terrain transitions into a dense network of smaller lakes and drainages, including Knuteson Lake and Deer Lake, interconnected by features like Knuteson Creek and Thirtythree Creek.

Transportation and historical infrastructure are visible through the Old Railroad Grade and the Old Blue Hills Trail cutting through the southern townships. The eastern portion of the map is punctuated by the elevation of Meteor Hill and the remote outpost of Yarnell. This 1970s survey captures the area as a recreational and timber landscape, preserved in part by the Tuscobia Falls State Park corridor and multiple local gravel pits used for regional road building.
