About this map

Lake Of The Ozarks defines the northern edge of this Benton County landscape, where the Deer Creek Arm and Duroc Bay cut into the timbered hills. The terrain is a complex network of ridges and deep ravines, many bearing the names of early local families, such as Cantrell Hollow, Thatcher Hollow, and Sawmill Hollow. This 1983 edition, based on earlier surveys by the Union Electric Company, captures the rural character of the area just south of the lake's reach.
