The Little Belt Mountains define this section of the Lewis & Clark National Forest, where high ridgelines and deep coulees dictate the movement of water and travelers alike. The landscape is dominated by the drainage systems of the Middle Fork Judith River and the Lost Fork Judith River, which carve through the terrain between Woodchopper Ridge to the north and Burnt Ridge to the south.
