Fancy Canyon carves through the central portion of this southwestern Kansas landscape, where the Salt Fork Arkansas River and its numerous tributaries define the drainage patterns of the High Plains. The terrain is marked by a network of seasonal and perennial waterways including Wildcat Cr, Dog Cr, and Indian Cr in the north, while the southern reaches are drained by Cave Cr and Jug Motte Cr.
