The Saint Joe River flows along the northern edge of this drainage-heavy landscape, joined by numerous northern gulches including Olson Gulch, Roundhouse Gulch, and Coddington Gulch. This 2011 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey reveals an intricate network of forest roads and waterways within Shoshone County, defined largely by the central corridor of Fishhook Creek and its many tributaries. Notable elevations such as Flemming Point, Bonehead Hill, and Jacksons Knob overlook the deeply carved valleys.
