Malhuer National Forest encompasses the entirety of this interior Oregon landscape, characterized by high-elevation summits and a dense network of mountain springs and creeks. High points like Flagtail Mountain and Horse Mtn define the central topography, while the northern reaches include the prominent Blue Ridge. The region is defined by its water sources, from Blue Ridge Spring in the northwest to Carson Spring in the southeast, feeding numerous drainages including S Fork Murderers Cr and Stewart Spring.
