About this map

Bridger Range peaks define the eastern half of this 1980s landscape, where the high-altitude Flathead Pass provides a crossing through the Gallatin National Forest. The western slopes are drained by a dense network of watercourses including Gallop Creek, Pass Creek, and Cottonwood Creek, which feed into the agricultural valley floor. Small-scale resource extraction is evident on the mountain slopes, marked by a Mine Shaft Prospect and other scattered prospects near Johnson Canyon.
