The village of Flensburg and the nearby settlement of Sobieski anchor this portion of Morrison County, defined by a landscape of glacial lakes and wetlands. The community's spiritual and genealogical history is well-preserved through numerous local burial grounds, including Saint John's Lutheran Church Cem and the twin locations of Sacred Heart Cem and Sacred Heart Cem East. This 2019 survey documents a terrain where drainage and water management are central to the landscape, from the expansive Big Marsh in the southwest to the course of the Swan River and Pike Cr.
