Fletcher serves as the central point of interest in this portion of the Nez Perce and Lewis county borderlands. The landscape is defined by the sharp descent into Big Canyon Cr and the winding paths of Posthole Canyon and Sixmile Canyon to the north. These drainage systems create a rugged topography that contrasts with the relatively level agricultural plateaus occupied by the town. Local history is anchored at the Fletcher Cem located along Eastman Rd. The network of rural routes, including Airport Rd, Fisher Rd, and Dunlap Rd, reveals a settlement pattern built around large land parcels and the canyon rims, where the road system often follows the natural contours of the high ground between the deep coulees.
