The Continental Divide defines the high ridgeline of the Sierra Madre range along the border of Carbon and Routt counties. This alpine landscape, divided between the Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming and the Routt National Forest in Colorado, is a complex network of headwaters. Streams like the Roaring Fork Little Snake River and W Br N Fork Little Snake River descend from high meadows such as Standard Park and Fletcher Park.
