Flynt Ranch and the open plains of West Texas are the primary focus of this 2016 survey of Martin County. The landscape is defined by the ephemeral Mustang Draw, which winds through the northeastern portion of the quadrangle. As of this mid-2010s study, the area remains primarily dedicated to ranching and local transit, with a sparse network of section-line roads and larger regional arteries facilitating movement across the Permian Basin's high terrain.
