About this map

The Fort Huachuca Military Reservation dominates the eastern half of this terrain, where the northern slopes of the Huachuca Mountains rise sharply from the valley floor. This 1940s landscape is defined by a series of high-altitude ranching operations along the boundary of the Coronado National Forest, including Pyeatt Ranch, Brophy Ranch, and Hathaway Ranch. The land division is further marked by the historic San Ignacio del Babocomari land grant line and the Santa Cruz and Cochise County border.
