Foster Coulee defines this portion of the Columbia Plateau in Douglas County, where the dry landscape is carved by seasonal drainage and punctuated by small water bodies. The terrain is marked by distinctive geological features such as Tower Rock and the winding course of E Foster Cr. Managed water resources are evident through the presence of Perry Dam Number One and Perry Dam Number Two, which sit near several small lakes including Elbow Lake, Clear Lake, and Buck Lake. The road network follows the section lines of the Public Land Survey System, with routes like Rogers Rd NE and Leahy Rd S providing access across the township boundaries of T29N R28E and T28N R28E. This 2017 survey reflects the modern agricultural and ranching infrastructure of a sparsely populated region, where land use is dictated by the availability of water and the natural contours of the coulee system.
