The arid drainage patterns of Hill County are the primary focus of this North-Central Montana survey. The landscape is defined by its seasonal watercourses, most notably Fourteenmile Coulee, which winds through the central portion of the sheet. To the south, Halfway Coulee cuts across the terrain, while Faulkners Coulee marks the northeastern corner. These natural features dictated the early settlement and ranching boundaries in this part of the Big Sky Country. A rigid grid of section roads, such as Road 80 S and Road 100 S, overlays the drainage systems, illustrating the intersection of the Public Land Survey System with the physical topography. The presence of Mt-448 and local markers like Wolrey Sign Rd provide essential reference points for land ownership and movement across this open high-plains environment.
