Franklin Hill rises above a deeply dissected landscape along the boundary of Morrow and Umatilla counties in eastern Oregon. The terrain is characterized by a dense network of drainages and named draws including Dixie Canyon, Cunha Canyon, and Matlock Canyon, which feed northward toward the Butter Creek corridor. While no large towns appear, the map reveals a remote network of rural transportation routes such as Huges-Hirl Rd and Hisler Rd that navigate the high plateaus and creek valleys.
