Stutsman, Logan, and LaMoure counties meet in this prairie landscape, where the Missouri Plateau's characteristic pothole topography is on full display. The terrain is defined by hundreds of small depressions and seasonal wetlands that dictate the paths of the section-line road grid. Hy 46 SE runs along the southern edge of the quadrangle, serving as the primary corridor through this agricultural region. Evidence of the area's early settlement persists at the Seventh Day Adventist Cem, located near the intersection of 65th Ave SE and 50th St SE. The map also traces the winding course of Buffalo Cr as it makes its way through the eastern sections, connecting several of the larger water bodies in a landscape otherwise dominated by isolated basins.
