Bear River dominates this portion of Caribou County, winding southward through Black Canyon and past Cove Dam. The landscape is a complex network of agricultural irrigation, with the North Extension Canal, Gentile Valley Canal, and West Branch Canal drawing water to the surrounding fields. These engineering efforts supported the local settlements of Turner and Telluride, as well as the operations at Turner Farms.
