Kawuneeche Valley serves as a central corridor for the Colorado River as it winds south toward the growing community of Grand Lake. This late 1950s survey documents a landscape of guest ranches and early park infrastructure, including the Holzwarth Ranch and the Green Mtn Ranch. Significant hydrologic engineering is evident at the southern edge of the sheet, where the Alva B Adams Tunnel passes beneath Mt Enentah to transport water through the Continental Divide. The map identifies historic sites like the former settlement of Gaskil, alongside active recreational landmarks like Columbine Lodge and the Grand Lake Entrance.
