About this map

The Cumberland River carves a winding path through this portion of Jackson and Smith Counties, dominated by the massive loops of Whites Bend, Holleman Bend, and Sullivan Bend. The 1968 field survey, updated in the late 1970s, illustrates the transformation of the river valley into the Cordell Hull Reservoir. This rising water reshaped the landscape around the historic river town of Granville, where the Granville Sch and Smith Mem Ch stand near the banks of Dry Fork.
