About this map

The convergence of North Greasewood Creek and South Greasewood Creek into the main stem of Greasewood Creek defines the hydrography of this Niobrara County landscape. Surveyed in the mid-1970s and edited in the early 1980s, the map reveals a remote ranching or energy-extraction landscape marked by numerous resource exploration sites. The terrain is deeply etched by ephemeral drainages such as Dutch Joe Draw, Walker Draw, and Charles Draw, which flow toward the larger valley of Lance Creek in the south.
