About this map

The northern reaches of Sulphur Springs Valley and the southern slopes of the Pinaleno Mountains define this landscape along the border of Cochise and Graham counties. Much of the northern terrain is managed as part of the Coronado National Forest, where steep drainages like Wood Canyon and Sycamore Canyon descend from the high ground of Greasewood Mtn. The reliance on intermittent water sources is evident through numerous named tanks and springs, such as Horse Pasture Tank, Corner Tank, and Walnut Spring, which supported cattle ranching in this arid environment.
