The coastal village of Greenbush sits along the western shoreline of Lake Huron in this northern Michigan study. The landscape is defined by the narrow strip of land between the Great Lake and Cedar Lake, where residential development follows the shoreline and local arteries like Cedar Lake Rd. To the west, the terrain shifts into a more primitive character, marked by the extensive Cedar Lake Swamp and a network of rural routes such as Poor Farm Rd and Wade Trl. The boundary between Alcona Co and Iosco Co cuts across the southern portion of the map, dividing the waters of Cedar Lake. Researchers will find a mix of settled lakeside property and undeveloped wetland drainage, including Phelan Cr, illustrating the typical coastal transition of the Lake Huron shore.
